Manchester United take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Manchester United will be desperate for a win to close the gap on Manchester City when they take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.
United have slipped 14 points adrift of City after the run-away leaders thrashed Tottenham 4-1 this evening so the Reds know they need to reduce that deficit with a win tomorrow.
Jose Mourinho’s men also have to worry about Chelsea as they moved level on points with United with a win today while fourth-placed Arsenal are now just five points adrift so it’s getting tight.
West Brom have problems at the opposite end of the table as Alan Pardew’s side currently sit 19th in the division after failing to win any of their last 16 league games.
They did get a morale-boosting draw at Liverpool in midweek so they’ll be looking to build on that result while United come in to the game off the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
Team news
United will once again be without Paul Pogba as the midfield serves the final game of his three-match suspension while Marouane Fellaini and Marcos Rojo remain doubts.
Eric Bailly has been ruled out until February after it was decided he needed surgery on an ankle injury while Michael Carrick is still unavailable due to a heart condition.
Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young are pushing for recalls after being named on the bench in midweek.
As for West Brom, Gareth Barry could return after recovering from a thigh problem but Matt Phillips, Craig Dawson, Nacer Chadli and James Morrison are all out.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
West Brom 0-2 Man Utd: The Reds have won eight of their last 11 league meetings with West Brom and the hosts are on a terrible run of form right now. No doubt the draw at Anfield will have boosted their confidence but I can still see United easing to a 2-0 win tomorrow.

However, I think it will be a draw so here are some other bets I like the look of:
- Both teams to score NO at: 4/5 – a £10 bet would return £18
- Exact score of 2-0 United win at: 6/1 – a £10 bet would return £70
- Lukaku to score first in a 2-0 United win at: 14/1 – a £10 bet would return £150
