Liverpool Urged To Sign ‘Extraordinary’ South American Star

Liverpool have been warned they will have to pay in excess of £45m to sign Alisson but goalkeeping coach Roberto Negrisolo believes he’d be worth the money

The January transfer window in now closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, the latest on Alisson’s future…..

Liverpool have been warned they will have to pay in excess of £45m to sign Alisson but former Roma goalkeeping coach Roberto Negrisolo believes he’d be worth the money, according to a report in the Mirror.

Klopp is on the look-out for a new number one as neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius have been able to establish themselves between the sticks at Anfield over the past few years.

Mignolet has once again lost the first team shirt after a string of poor displays while Karius has failed to take his opportunity to cement his position with a number of unconvincing performances.

It’s left Klopp searching for a reliable number one ahead of the summer window and Alisson has emerged as a key target with widespread reports suggesting Liverpool are keen on the Roma star.

The Mirror reported last week that the Merseysiders had already made contact about signing the Brazilian international and could secure a deal worth in the region of £45m this summer.

Former Roma goalkeeping coach Roberto Negrisolo has warned Liverpool that Alisson will cost a lot more than £45m as he believes he’s the ‘Messi of goalkeepers’.

However, Negrisolo has suggested that the 25-year-old is worth whatever it takes to sign him as he feels Alisson is an ‘extraordinary’ keeper who will be at the top of his game for the next 10 years.

When asked about reports linking Alisson with a £45m move to Liverpool, Negrisolo is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“Is Alisson worth €50million (£45m)? Don’t be silly, he’s worth far more than that. I don’t think many people have realised who Alisson is. This guy is a phenomenon. He is the number one of number ones. He is the Messi of goalkeepers, because he has the same mentality as Messi. He is a goalkeeper who can mark an era.

“There is absolutely no comparison with Gianluigi Donnarumma, because Alisson is extraordinary. The way he behaves in the goal, he reminds me of Dino Zoff. I’d also compare him to Michel Preud-Homme, who had the class of someone born to be a goalkeeper.

“I told Alisson when I met him at Roma’s Trigoria ground that he was born for this. He was already strong when he arrived, but has improved even more since he has been in Italy, especially when coming out low to get the ball. Now he is far more decisive in those situations.

“I know goalkeepers, that is my business, and I can assure you Alisson can be a guarantee for at least another 10 years. He’s already a hero to the fans and Roma need to keep hold of him.

“Alisson is crucial off the field too, as you can see he has the mind of a coach. Look at the way he moves and acts when the ball is in his hands and you’ll understand.”

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but I suspect Liverpool are going to have to dig deep if they want to lure Alisson away from Roma this summer.

However, the keeper is worth his weight in gold as the Reds desperately need a reliable No.1 if they’re to be genuine title contenders and Alisson would be a sensational signing if they could get a deal agreed.
