Infographic: All The Vital Stats Ahead Of Chelsea’s Clash With Tottenham
Check out this infographic with all the vital stats and information ahead of Chelsea’s huge Premier League clash with Tottenham.
The international break is almost over so Premier League football will return this weekend and we have a huge London derby to look forward to.
Fifth-placed Chelsea welcome fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon for a game that will go a long way to determining who finishes in the top four this season.
Ahead of the titanic clash, we’ve come across an interesting infographic that provides all the vital information and statistics including the two clubs’ Premier League head-to-head record.
As you can see, Chelsea have had the best of it with 27 wins to Tottenham’s 5 while there has been 19 draws so the smart money would be on the hosts avoiding defeat this weekend.
The Blues have also had the better of the last 5 meetings having won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Wembley back in August 2017 while they also won the FA Cup semi-final contest 4-2 towards the end of last season.
Tottenham did come out victorious 2-0 in their league meetings in January last year and drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in May 2016 but they lost again later that year thanks to a 2-1 Chelsea win.
However, Spurs come in to the match as the in-form team having won four and drawn the other of their last five games while Chelsea have tasted defeat three times in their last five outings.
Given these stats, it would be interesting to see how many Paddy Power football bets have been placed on Tottenham to come away with all three points from Stamford Bridge this weekend.
If Mauricio Pochettino’s men are to win on Sunday, they will need Harry Kane to be passed fit following an ankle injury as the England hitman is one of the league leading scorers having netted 24 times so far this season.
Tottenham’s second highest scorer is Heung-min Son on 12 while Christian Eriksen has 11 so the north Londoners will desperately miss Kane if he fails to recover in time to face Chelsea.
Antonio Conte hasn’t had the same deadly weapon to rely on up front as Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s top scorer with 11 league goals while big-money summer signing Alvaro Morata has registered just 10 times.
The graphic also shows that Tottenham have a solid history in the trophy department with 3 European titles, 2 league titles and 12 domestic cups but it’s Chelsea who come out on top with 5 European titles [including the Champions League], 6 league titles and 12 domestic cups.
It’s certainly gearing-up to be a fascinating match in west London. Check out all the vital stats ahead of the game:
