Tottenham and Manchester United will have to battle Bournemouth for the signature of Celtic’s £20m-rated defender Kieran Tierney this summer, according to the Sun.
Tierney has been with Celtic his entire career having joined the clubs youth system as a kid and he’s emerged as one of the best defenders in Scottish football since breaking in to the first team in 2015.
The 20-year-old has become a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ team and has been virtually ever-present to help his boyhood club clinch yet another Scottish Premier League title at the weekend.
Tierney has also been a regular with the Scotland national team in recent years and has even captained his country despite his tender years so he certainly has a huge future ahead of him.
The youngsters potential has alerted clubs here in the Premier League as the Sun claims Man Utd and Tottenham have expressed their interest after tracking Tierney throughout the season.
Jose Mourinho is expected to strengthen at left-back this summer as Ashley Young turns 33 in July and Tierney has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw – who’s tipped to leave Old Trafford after falling out of favour.
Mauricio Pochettino is also in the market for a new left-back as Danny Rose is expected to leave the north Londoners after struggling to regain his first team place following a serious knee injury and Tierney is also on Tottenham’s radar.
However, it looks like Spurs and United will face fresh competition as the Sun claims that Bournemouth have joined the chase to sign the £20m-rated defender this summer.
Eddie Howe is looking to strengthen following another solid campaign and the newspaper says he’s hoping the lure of regular first team football will persuade Tierney to turn down Spurs and United in favour of a move to the south coast.

Obviously the youngster will want to be playing regularly if he does leave Celtic but it will also be difficult for him to reject the likes of Tottenham or Man Utd so it’s going to be interesting to see where Tierney ends up this summer.
