The summer transfer window is in full swing and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham are linked with Geoffrey Kondogbia….
Tottenham have been told they will need to stump up £70m to land Geoffrey Kondogbia after opening talks with Valencia over a potential deal for the midfielder, according to the Mirror.
Mauricio Pochettino is keen to strengthen his squad as he looks to turn Tottenham in to genuine title contenders but he’s endured a difficult summer so far as Spurs are yet to make a single signing having been frustrated in their attempts to sign their top transfer targets.
A new central midfielder is seemingly on the agenda as Moussa Sissoko and Mousa Dembele are being linked with moves this summer but Pochettino has been forced to look at alternatives after failing to agree terms with Aston Villa over Jack Grealish.
It looks like Kondogbia has emerged as a target as reports in France via TeamTalk claim Tottenham have opened talks with Valencia over a deal to sign the French international.
Kondogbia came through the youth ranks at Lens and played for Sevilla, Monaco and Inter Milan during his career before joining Valencia on an initial loan deal last summer.
The 25-year-old impressed for Los Che last season and made his move permanent earlier in the summer but the powerful central midfielder could already be on the move again with a switch to north London in the pipeline.
TeamTalk says Tottenham could launch a formal bid for Kondogbia but the Mirror claims Valencia have made it clear they will only sell if Spurs meet the players £70m release clause.
However, it remains to be seen whether Spurs will be prepared to pay that kind of money as chairman Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator and will no doubt hope to drive Kondogbia’s price down.

We’ll have to wait and see how negotiations progress over the coming days but I think Kondogbia would be a solid addition for Tottenham if they could get a deal agreed as he’d provide stiff competition for the likes of Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier.
