Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd have made their move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka….
Manchester United have made a substantial offer to sign Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to overhaul his squad this summer, according to Sky Sports.
Solskjaer is expected to be extremely active in the market over the coming months after United finished sixth in the Premier League last season and the Manchester giants have already got a deal in place to sign winger Daniel James from Swansea City.
A new right-back is also believed to be on the agenda as Antonio Valencia has left the club and Ashley Young turns 34 next month so Man Utd need a long-term replacement who can compete with Diogo Dalot.
Wan-Bissaka has emerged as a prime target and it looks like Solskjaer has now formalised his interest as Sky Sports News claims United have now tabled a ‘substantial’ offer for the 21-year-old.
The England U21 defender enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Crystal Palace last season that saw him establish himself as a key player under Roy Hodgson and he’s now earned a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in British football.
Wan-Bissaka made 39 appearances in all competitions to help Palace finish 12th in the league last year and he’s tipped to become a senior England international soon having represented his country at youth level.
No doubt the talented full-back would be tempted by a move to Old Trafford and it would be difficult for him to turn down a club like United if they could get a deal agreed for his signature this summer.
However, Wan-Bissaka still has three years left on his current contract at Selhurst Park and Palace are desperate to keep him so the Metro claim the Londoners are demanding at least £50m for his signature.
