The last day of the Premier League season will give Harry Kane and Mo Salah the chance to battle it out to become the league’s top scorer. As it stands, both players are equal on 22 goals, and they’ll be desperate to scoop the award in what’s been a disappointing season for both of their respective clubs.

Tottenham face a tough away game at the Champions League-chasing Leicester City, while Liverpool have an easier task entertaining Crystal Palace as they look to cement their place in European football next season.

While the battles at the top and bottom of the Premier League table are pretty much settled, many of the betting odds on www.erfahrungen.com have the contest between Kane and Salah to be one of the more intriguing aspects of Sunday’s round of matches.

A final farewell for Kane

While Kane did a lap of honour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a sorry 1-2 Aston Villa defeat, Sunday could be his final game for the North London club. It looks like it’s a done deal that Kane will be leaving Spurs at the end of the season, and this could spark the 27-year old into scoring just a few more goals for the club.

Kane has scored 22 goals in 34 Premier League games for Tottenham this season. Not only is this a valiant effort in itself, but the striker has also managed to bag a very credible 13 assists. This is much more than the four assists credited to Salah, and it’s a testament to the way in which Kane and Son Heung-Min combined to devastating effect in the first part of the Premier League this season.

However, it must be said that there are easier sides to score against than Leicester. While the Foxes are looking like they are having another end of season wobble, the club know that they have to beat Tottenham in order to have a chance of playing Champions League football next season. The good news is that this might open up space for Kane to grab one more goal, the bad news is that this could be a very unhappy ending to Kane’s Tottenham career.

Salah to answer his critics

Some may be surprised that Salah has managed to bag 22 goals in what’s been a relatively disappointing season for Liverpool. But Salah’s consistency has been one of Liverpool’s saving graces, and he has been a key reason why Jurgen Klopp’s team still have a chance of playing European football next season.

While Salah’s meagre four assists might be behind Kane, the Egyptian star has actually enjoyed a better goal conversion rate of 26% compared to 21% for Kane. Similarly, Salah has shown a better shot accuracy of 58% compared to Kane’s 49%.

If Salah bags a goal against Crystal Palace and helps Liverpool seal their place in the Champions League, then there’s a strong chance that he’ll be staying at the Merseyside club. There have been plenty of rumours that Salah could sign for Paris Saint Germain or even Chelsea, due to his Liverpool contract expiring in 2023.

While Crystal Palace usually present a formidable defensive challenge for most clubs, they will face a real test against Liverpool on Sunday. Klopp’s team have won their last four games in a row, and with Europe in their sights, it’ll give Salah all of the encouragement he needs to get just one more goal.

Who else is in the running?

It’s fair to say that Kane and Salah are far ahead of the competition in the race for the Golden Boot award. The closest challenger to the pair is Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes with 18 goals. Following this, Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min has 17 goals, while Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin have 16 goals each.
