Benayoun Urges Chelsea To Beat Manchester United At Win The Champions League
Chelsea attacker Yossi Benayoun has urged his teammates to beat Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League to keep their season alive.
The 30-year-old has predicted that a win at Old Trafford in the second leg of their quarter-final tie against arch rivals Manchester United will inspire his team to lift the prestigious UEFA Champions League trophy at Wembley in May.
Despite having a game in hand, Chelsea are currently behind Sir Alex Ferguson’s side by a massive 11 points in the Barclays Premier League, which shows that their hopes of retaining the title at the end of the season seems to be extremely slim. And if that’s the case, the UEFA Champions League turns out to be the only silverware on offer for Carlo Ancelotti’s team. But they must first overturn a one goal deficit, having lost 1-0 at home to the Red Devils in the first leg.
In spite of the disadvantage and the odds stacked against them, Yossi Benayoun has expressed his confidence in beating Manchester United and finishing the season on a high note.
“It’s most likely from here we will finish in the top three or four and be in the Champions League next season. That’s almost done.
The only thing left is to try to win a trophy and the only trophy we can win is the Champions League. We have to do our best and give everything.”
