Jose Mourinho wants to make six signings when he takes over at Chelsea with Radamel Falcao, Hulk, Isco, Marouane Fellaini and Eliquim Mangala all on his hit-list
With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Jose Mourinho targets six new signings at Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho wants to bring in six new signings when he eventually takes over as Chelsea boss next month with Radamel Falcao, Hulk, Isco, Marouane Fellaini and Eliquim Mangala among the names on his hit-list, according to the Mirror.
The Portuguese coach will be free to make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge after Real Madrid’s final game of the season on June 2nd and the report suggests he’s already agreed a three-year contract worth £12m-a-year with the promise of £100m made available for squad investment.
Mourinho is believed to have already drawn-up a summer wish-list with the Mirror claiming he will aim to strengthen his defence, midfield and attack, with the 50-year-old feeling he needs to sign six new players this summer in order to turn Chelsea back into champions.
The newspaper says Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao is the prime striker target but Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk has also been identified as a back-up option in-case they miss out on the Colombian hitman. A deal for Andre Schurrle is already understood to be close to completion while other targets for Mourinho include Malaga playmaker Isco, Everton’s versatile midfielder Marouane Fellaini and Porto defender Eliquim Mangala.
Mourinho’s return looks like it will spark a busy summer of rebuilding in west London with Roman Abramovich seemingly willing to loosen the purse strings again to turn Chelsea back into potential champions. If they do spend £100m on new players, you’d expect the club to also sell on some of it’s fringe players to balance the books with FIFA’a Financial Fair Play restrictions in mind.
