United Ponder Move For £15m Star | Legend Discusses Modric & Sneijder

United Track Martin

Manchester United are tracking French ace Marvin Martin. A report in the Maxifoot suggests United have joined a number of French clubs chasing the Sochaux midfielder.

The French outfit have already turned down a £7million bid from Lille and are reportedly seeking £15million for their mini maestro.

The 5ft 7in attacking midfielder has been identified as a possible replacement for the retired Paul Scholes, but with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson chasing more established stars, the French ace may opt for a move elsewhere.

Scholes Speaks On Potential Replacements

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has spoken on his potential replacement. United have been linked with an array of top class midfielders to fill the void left by Scholes who has recently retired.

Tottenham’s Luka Modric and Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder both have been hotly tipped to join the Red Devils this summer, but both midfielders would command a transfer fee in excess of £30million.

When asked who could replace him at Old Trafford, the ginger maestro laughed off “That is up to the manager.” But, Scholes firmly believes there is enough talent around at United without a potential replacement, he added

“You only have to look at the youth team and what they have done this year to see there is a lot of talent at this club. There are some great players.

“But the ones we have been linked with are great as well.”

United will have to fight Chelsea for both Modric and Sneijder; the Blues have been linked heavily with both attacking midfielders but appear to be edging close to the Tottenham ace.
