Sky Sports Pundit: Brazilian Super-Star Considering Man Utd Move
Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague claims Barcelona super-star Neymar is considering a move to Manchester United at some point in the future.
With the summer transfer window now closed for business, it’s time to start looking at those deals that failed to get over the line and those which are being lined-up for the future. Today, Neymar is linked with Man Utd….
Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague claims Barcelona super-star Neymar is considering a move to Manchester United at some point in the future, according to the Express.
Neymar was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer and the striker was quoted in the Mirror last week as confirming that ‘conversations’ took place but no formal offer was put on the table.
This led to further speculation that the 23-year-old could be heading to United and while many have dismissed the idea as nothing more than idle paper talk, Balague suggests there is more to the rumours than meets the eye.
The La Liga expert, who works with Sky Sports as a pundit, claims that Neymar is giving serious consideration to joining United in the future because he doesn’t feel he can fulfill his potential while playing in the shadow of Lionel Messi.
When asked by Sky Sports about the Brazilian international joining United, Balague is quoted as saying by the Express:
“Is he considering doing so [joining United] in the future? Categorically, yes.
“It is going to be the saga of the next 12 months or more -his new contract with Barcelona. FCB want him to sign it now, he is not in a rush.”
“Why? I think he feels he will not be the best player in the world while at Barcelona, with Messi leading the team.
“So he has to decide if he stays and waits for Messi to move on, or goes to a team that will build around him. So keep an eye on this.”
So it appears Neymar’s future is going to be a major talking point in the press over the next 12 months as he comes to a crossroads in his career.
He’ll either be persuaded to extend his contract with Barcelona and continue to battle for the spotlight with Messi, or he’ll decide to leave and a sensational move to Manchester United could be on the cards.
The Premier League leaders are one of the only clubs who have the financial muscle to pull off what would probably be a world record transfer if Neymar did decided to leave the Nou Camp.

It would obviously be a stunning coup if United could lure the former Santos ace to Old Trafford as Neymar is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, but if Balague is correct we may have to endure a drawn-out saga before his future his decided.
