Louis van Gaal has made two changes from the side that lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon with Ander Herrera recalled to the side while Marouane Fellaini is also brought in to combat the aerial threat of Andy Carroll.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is passed fit after limping off at Spurs with a minor knock while Marcus Rashford keeps his place up front despite being hauled off at half-time at White Hart Lane.

Wayne Rooney returns to the bench after coming through a run-out for the under-21’s on Monday night having recovered from a two month lay off with a knee injury.
