23-Goal Striker Keen On Move As Tottenham Open Talks Over Potential £30m Deal
Alexandre Lacazette is keen to move to North London after Tottenham Hotspur opened talks with Lyon over a potential £30m deal for the French striker
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham are linked with Alexandre Lacazette….
Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette is keen on a move to North London after Tottenham Hotspur opened talks with his agents over a potential £30m deal for the French striker, according to the Mirror.
Spurs have just come off the back of an excellent campaign that saw them push Leicester City for the title for much of the season before a late collapse saw them end up finishing third behind North London rivals Arsenal.
Despite that blip, Tottenham have guaranteed themselves a place in the Champions League group stages next season so Mauricio Pochettino is going to need to strengthen his squad with another striker to support Harry Kane likely to be a priority.
Several names have been linked with a move to White Hart Lane but the Mirror claim that chairman Daniel Levy has set his sights on Alexandre Lacazette and has already opened talks with the strikers representatives about a potential move.
The 24-year-old has just come off the back of another impressive campaign which saw him score 23 goals in all competitions to help Lyon finish runners-up behind champions Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.
Lacazette would certainly provide Tottenham with another threat in the final third which is going to be important next season but any potential deal isn’t going to be straightforward.
The Mirror claims that PSG are also showing a keen interest while West Ham have already seen an opening offer rejected with Lyon understood to be demanding around £30m for the French international’s signature.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will be prepared to pay that kind of money but the newspaper suggests that Lacazette would be keen on making the move to North London should the two clubs agree a deal.
That will be no easy task though as Jean-Michel Aulas is notoriously difficult to negotiate with and the Lyon president has already warned any suitors that any potential deal for Lacazette must be completed by the end of June.
Aulas is quoted as saying by the Mirror:
”If on 28th August, we are offered €80m for Alexandre Lacazette, he will not leave. However, if he comes to me in the days to come, because he has an offer he cannot refuse, it’s possible.
“Finally, if there must be departures, they will be before June 30. There will be none after, except for minor players.”
If Spurs do end up signing Lacazette, then it could spell the end of Son Heung-Min’s time at the club as the South Korean endured a difficult debut season in the Premier League following his move from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

Despite his goal-scoring exploits last season, Lacazette has been left out of Didier Deschamps 23-man squad for Euro 2016 but that could be good news for Spurs as he’d be free to complete any potential move away from Lyon this month.
