Bundesliga Attacker Considering £21m Tottenham Move
An exciting Bundesliga attacker is considering joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer in a deal that would set the north Londoners back £21m
The transfer window is now drawing to a close so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Hakan Calhanoglu is linked with Tottenham…
Bayer Leverkusen attacker Hakan Calhanoglu is considering joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer in a deal that could cost the north Londoners £21m, according to Bild via the Express.
Calhanoglu has developed in to one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in German football since joining Leverkusen from Hamburg in 2014 and has forged a reputation as one of the best free-kick takers in European football.
The 22-year-old chipped in with 8 goals and 10 assists last season to help Leverkusen secure a third-placed finish in the Bundesliga table and join Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in qualifying automatically for this seasons Champions League.
Calhanoglu’s impressive form has seen him attract plenty of interest from the Premier League and the Express are citing a report coming from Bild that claims the player is considering joining Tottenham this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has already brought in midfielder Victor Wanyama and striker Vincent Janssen this summer but he’s expected to do further business during the closing week of the transfer window with the Argentinean coach understood to be keen on strengthening his attacking options.
It looks like Calhanoglu is firmly on his radar and is mulling over the move to White Hart Lane but the Express suggest that any potential deal for the Turkish international will cost the north Londoners £21m.
That sort of money shouldn’t be a problem for a club like Spurs but Pochettino could sell the likes of Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and Nabil Bentaleb to make room and raise funds for the signing of Calhanoglu.

We’ll have to wait and see how this all develops over the coming days but I think the gifted attacker would be an exciting addition if Tottenham were able to get a deal agreed before the window closes next Wednesday.
