Chelsea In Talks To Sign Two Man Utd Targets In £133m Double Deal
Real Madrid have been offered Chelsea the chance to sign Manchester United targets Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez in a sensational £133m double deal
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez….
Real Madrid have been offered Chelsea the chance to sign Manchester United targets Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez in a sensational £133m double deal, according to a report in The Sun.
Morata has struggled to hold down a regular spot since re-joining Madrid from Juventus last summer with the striker making just 16 starts in all competitions last season.
Despite his lack of action, the 24-year-old managed to score an impressive 20 goals and his potential caught the eye of United boss Jose Mourinho – who’s been in the market for a new striker after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Sun claim that Morata’s agent was trying to push through a move to United but Madrid played hardball after rejecting their latest offer worth £70m with the Champions League winners demanding £80m for his signature.
Rodriguez has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and a number of other clubs, this summer after failing to nail down a place under Zinedine Zidane last season and the Colombian international was left out of the entire squad for Madrid’s Champions League final win over Juventus.
The Sun claim United have held advanced talks to sign Rodriguez but Madrid president Florentino Perez has been reluctant to do business with the Red Devils for any of their players due to strained relations between the two clubs.
However, Perez remains intent on selling Morata and Rodriguez and The Sun cite a report from Diario Gol that claims Madrid have now opened talks with Chelsea to offer them a sensational double deal.
The Spanish outlet indicates that Madrid have offered the Premier League champions the chance to sign both Morata and Rodriguez for £133m – which is much less than United would have had to pay for two separate transfers.
Antonio Conte is desperate to sign a top class striker after seemingly missing out on Romelu Lukaku – who’s heading to United – and the Italian boss could now turn his attention to signing Morata.
The Chelsea supremo is also keen to further strengthen his attacking options ahead of Chelsea’s return to the Champions League so Conte could be tempted by Madrid’s proposal of a double deal for Morata and Rodriguez.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but I think both players would be excellent signings for Chelsea if they decided to go ahead with the £133m double swoop.
