Chelsea Hoping To Trump Man Utd With £40m Bid For Tottenham Star
Chelsea are hoping to beat Manchester United to the signing of Danny Rose by launching a £40m move for the Tottenham Hotspur defender
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea are ready to make their move for Danny Rose….
Chelsea are hoping to beat Manchester United to the signing of Danny Rose by launching a £40m move for the Tottenham Hotspur defender, according to The Sun.
Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to further strengthen his squad before the window closes as he’s about to go in to the opening game of the new season with just 14 available first team players.
A new left-back to compete with Marcos Alonso in the wing-back role is a priority and it looks as though Chelsea are now ready to turn their attention to Rose after struggling to agree a deal with Juventus for Alex Sandro.
The Sun claim Conte is urging Chelsea bosses to step-up their interest in Rose and the Premier League champions are now expected to test Tottenham’s resolve with a £40m bid.
Rose has been strongly linked with Manchester United too this summer with the Mirror reporting recently that Jose Mourinho is also plotting a swoop for the England international.
Left-back was a problem area for United last season and it appears Mourinho has identified Rose as the man to strengthen that department as he looks to build a title-winning squad this summer.
However, it seems Chelsea are ready to steal a march on their rivals but both clubs will find it difficult to prise the 27-year-old away from north London as Spurs are determined to hang on to Rose.
They’ve already seen Kyle Walker join Manchester City this summer so Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate for chairman Daniel Levy to resist all approaches from Chelsea or United for their other star full-back.

However, while Rose only signed a new five-year deal worth around £65,000-a-week 12 months ago, he’ll know he could demand a huge pay rise elsewhere so Tottenham could yet face a fight to keep hold of the player this summer.
