Chelsea Eye Bid For £50m Rose But Man Utd Ready To Tempt Spurs With Swap Deal
Chelsea are ready to make their move for £50m-rated Danny Rose but Manchester United could offer Tottenham a tempting swap deal involving Luke Shaw
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Chelsea and Man Utd’s move for Danny Rose…
Chelsea are ready to make their move for £50m-rated Danny Rose but Manchester United could offer Tottenham a tempting swap deal involving Luke Shaw, according to The Sun.
Rose rocked Spurs after conducting an explosive interview with The Sun yesterday where he urged the club to bring in top class players and suggested he wasn’t earning what he’s worth at White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old also highlighted his desire to win trophies and admitted he would consider a move away from Tottenham, which has understandably alerted the likes of Chelsea and United.
The Sun have an update on the situation today and they claim that while Rose was given a hero’s welcome by the rest of the Tottenham squad at training, he’s been fined two weeks wages by the club.
The newspaper says chairman Daniel Levy could now cash-in on Rose if a club pays £50m and Chelsea are tipped to launch a swoop for the left-back before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Rose admitted in his interview yesterday that he plans to play back up north nearer his family before he retires but The Sun claim he is still open to the idea of playing for Chelsea despite their rivalry with Spurs.
Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to further strengthen his squad and the Blues coach wants another full-back to compete with Marcos Alonso in the wing-back role, so Rose would be the ideal purchase.
However, Jose Mourinho is also in the market for another left-back as it was something of a problem area for United last season with several players failing to establish themselves as first choice.
The report indicates that while United are keen on signing Rose they favour a part-exchange deal that would involve Shaw going in the opposite direction as Mourinho remains unconvinced over the former Southampton star.
Pochettino knows Shaw well from their time together at St Mary’s and he’d be a direct replacement for Rose so United’s proposal could be a tempting one for Spurs if the Red Devils formalise their interest.
