Manchester United and Chelsea face a battle to land Danny Rose as Tottenham are refusing to sell the full-back despite his controversial interview last week, according to the Daily Mail.
Rose stunned Spurs after conducting an interview with The Sun last week where he questioned the clubs transfer policy and suggested he wasn’t happy with his earnings at White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old also highlighted his desire to win trophies and admitted he would consider a switch away from Tottenham this summer, with a move back up north his preference.
This alerted several top clubs with The Sun reporting over the weekend that Chelsea were lining-up a swoop for the £50m-rated full-back while Man Utd were ready to offer Luke Shaw in part exchange to get their hands on Rose.
Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to further strengthen his squad before the end of the month and the Blues boss is understood to be keen on signing a left-back to compete with Marcos Alonso this season.
Jose Mourinho is also believed to be on the look-out for another left-sided defender as several players struggled to hold down the position last season and Rose has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
United were initially regarded as favourites to sign the England international as they could offer him the chance to move back up north nearer his family and provide Spurs a direct replacement in Shaw.
However, it looks like United and Chelsea face a battle to sign Rose as the Daily Mail claim that Tottenham will refuse to do business for the defender despite his outburst in the press last week.

Mauricio Pochettino backed Rose at his press conference on Friday after the player issued a public apology so it looks like the north Londoners are hoping to put the issue behind them and resists any attempts from Chelsea or United to lure him away this summer.
