Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain….
Liverpool and Manchester United have joined Chelsea in enquiring over the potential signing of Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to the Express.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s long-term future at the Emirates is in serious doubt as he’s in the final year of his contract and has so far been unable to agree terms over an extension.
Arsene Wenger reiterated as his press conference this morning that he is determined to keep hold of the midfielder this summer even if he doesn’t sign a new contract.
However, that hasn’t stopped Arsenal’s Premier League rivals from expressing their interest in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain as a number of clubs have reportedly been in touch.
The Express are citing a report from the Gambling Times that claims Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea have all made contact with the Gunners to enquire over signing Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.
Jurgen Klopp has long been linked with a move for the 24-year-old and the Liverpool boss could be viewing the versatile Oxlade-Chamberlain as an alternative target to Naby Keita after failing to persuade RB Leipzig to sell the midfielder.
Jose Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to sign another attacker this summer and with Oxlade-Chamberlain able to play on either wing and through the middle, he’d be a very useful addition to the United squad.
However, the newspaper report claims Chelsea remain the front-runners with the Premier League champions believed to be confident they can secure a deal to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain before the end of the month due to the player’s desire to remain in the capital.
The Express claim that Chelsea are ready to test Arsenal’s resolve with a £35m bid and are willing to offer the England international a significant wage increase in order to make the move across London.
Antonio Conte is desperate to further strengthen his squad and Oxlade-Chamberlain is an attractive proposition due to his ability to play in a variety of roles, including right wing-back, which means he’d offer competition to Victor Moses.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress as Arsenal appear adamant they won’t cash-in on Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer so it wouldn’t go down well in north London if Chelsea, or indeed Liverpool or United, ended up securing a deal.
