Tottenham are set to meet Lazio’s £28m asking price for Keita Balde Diao as Mauricio Pochettino looks to kick-off a late spending spree in the transfer market, according to reports in Italy via talkSPORT.
Pochettino has been extremely quiet this summer but he’s gearing-up for a busy final few days as he looks to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts ahead of Tottenham’s return to the Champions League.
Spurs already have a deal in place to sign Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez and it looks like the north Londoners are also looking to add to their attacking options before the end of the month.
That’s because talkSPORT are citing a report from Corriere dello Sport that claims Tottenham will table a £28m bid for Keita in the coming days and the offer will be accepted as it meets Lazio’s asking price.
The 22-year-old forward was a product of Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy before joining Lazio in 2011 and has now established himself in the first team set-up having made his debut in 2013.
Keita enjoyed an excellent campaign last season after scoring 16 goals in just 21 Serie A starts but he’s been trying to force a move away from Lazio this summer with the forward even refusing to train with the first team squad.
talkSPORT claim that Juventus are the player’s preferred destination but the Serie A champions are unwilling to meet Lazio’s valuation so it looks like Tottenham are now ready to try and lure Keita to England.

The Senegal international is predominantly a left-sided winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so he’d give Poch plenty of options in the final third if he does make a move to North London.
