Man Utd Boss Confident Of Signing La Liga Midfielder In £27m Deal
Manchester United are ready to launch a £27m bid to sign out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic this winter, according to reports
The January transfer window is just around the corner meaning clubs are working hard on potential deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Mateo Kovacic…
Manchester United are ready to launch a £27m bid to sign out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic this winter, according to a report in the Mirror.
Kovacic has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at the Bernabeu since joining Madrid from Inter Milan in 2015 with the midfielder failing to start a La Liga game so far this season.
The 23-year-old’s chances of breaking in to Zinedine Zidane’s plans look slim as the likes of Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
It’s led to speculation that Kovacic will be on the move when the transfer window reopens in January as he looks to secure more regular first team football ahead of the 2018 World Cup finals.
Kovacic could be offered a fresh start here in England as the Mirror are citing a report from Don Balon that claims Manchester United are ready to launch a £27m bid to sign the Madrid midfielder.
The Spanish outlet suggests that United boss Jose Mourinho is confident a deal will be agreed in order to take the Croatian international to Old Trafford this winter.
Mourinho has refused to rule out the idea of adding to his squad in January and with Henrikh Mkhitaryan tipped to leave after falling out-of-favour it seems Kovacic has been lined-up as a replacement.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but I think Kovacic would be a decent signing for United if they do end up getting a deal agreed and £27m seems like a relative bargain in today’s market.
