Man Utd Plotting Audacious £90m Swoop To Hijack Real Madrid’s Move For Blues Star
Manchester United are plotting an audacious £90m swoop for Eden Hazard and hope to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the Chelsea attacker this summer
The January transfer window is just around the corner meaning clubs are working hard on potential deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Eden Hazard…
Manchester United are plotting an audacious £90m swoop for Eden Hazard and hope to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the Chelsea attacker this summer, according to The Sun.
Hazard has developed in to one of the best attackers in Europe since joining Chelsea from Lille in 2012 as he’s provided 80 goals and 69 assists to help the Blues win two Premier League titles.
However, the Belgian international’s future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt as The Sun claim Hazard is considering his options after rejecting a new £300,000-a-week contract extension.
The newspaper says Real Madrid have made Hazard their number one transfer target with reports coming out of Spain suggesting the attacker will move to the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
However, it looks like Madrid will now face some stiff competition as The Sun claim that Man Utd have also identified Hazard as a prime target with Jose Mourinho believing the Belgian star is the missing piece in his jigsaw.
And despite reports suggesting Hazard had a difficult relationship with Mourinho during their time together at Chelsea, the newspaper says the United boss wants to be reunited at Old Trafford and is ready to launch a British record £90m swoop.
It remains to be seen how Chelsea would respond to United’s approach but I think it would take a lot more than £90m to tempt the Blues in to a deal in today’s over-inflated market.
Hazard is one of the best attackers in Europe and if Philippe Coutinho is worth around £130m then Chelsea would want a similar figure for their talisman if they did decide to cash-in.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but I think that if Hazard does eventually leave Chelsea then he’ll head abroad, most likely to Madrid, as I can’t see them selling to a domestic rival such as United.
