The January transfer window is just around the corner meaning clubs are working hard on potential deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Ryan Sessegnon…
Manchester United are ready to steal a march on Tottenham Hotspur with an opening £25m bid for Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Guardian.
Sessegnon has been with Fulham since he was a child and has progressed through their youth ranks to establish himself as a first team regular while he’s also represented England at U19 youth level.
The 17-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after players outside of the Premier League after enjoying a breakthrough year at Cravan Cottage last season that saw him score 7 goals in 31 appearances.
The left-back has continued to impress this season and became the first 17-year-old since Dele Alli to score a hat-trick in one of England’s top tiers after netting three times during a 5-4 win over Sheffield United last month.
Sessegnon’s potential has led to strong interest from the top flight with the Mirror reporting earlier this month that Man Utd had joined Tottenham in the race to sign the talented full-back.
Mauricio Pochettino is facing-up to the prospect of losing Danny Rose and the Spurs boss has seemingly identified Sessegnon as a potential replacement for the England international.
However, it looks like United are ready to steal a march on the north Londoners as the Guardian are reporting that the Red Devils will test Fulham’s resolve with an opening £25m offer.
The newspaper says that Fulham have indicated they want at least £30m for their prized asset so United may have to dig a little deeper but the Manchester giants have the financial firepower to pay the kind of money the Championship side want.
If United manage to agree a deal then they will allow Luke Shaw to leave the club, however, the Guardian claim that if a bid is accepted for Sessegnon then Spurs will step-up their interest too.

It will be interesting to see how this progresses but it’s only a matter of time before Sessegnon leaves Craven Cottage and it looks like two of England’s biggest clubs are ready to battle for his signature.
