£40m Brazilian Keen On Man Utd Move As Mourinho Eyes January Swoop
Lucas Moura is keen on joining Manchester United this month as Jose Mourinho eyes a January swoop for the out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain winger
The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Lucas Moura is keen on joining Man Utd….
Lucas Moura is keen on joining Manchester United this month as Jose Mourinho eyes a January swoop for the out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain winger, according to a report in the Express.
Moura was once considered to be one of the most exciting young talents in world football and was strongly linked with a move to United before joining PSG in a big-money deal from Sao Paulo in 2013.
However, his time in France hasn’t gone according to plan as the 25-year-old has fallen out-of-favour under Unai Emery this season and is yet to start a single Ligue 1 game.
The Brazilian international has made just six appearances in all competitions from the bench with the likes of Neymar, Julian Draxler, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria all ahead of him in the pecking order.
His situation has seemingly alerted United once again as the Express reported last week that Mourinho has identified Moura as a January target and PSG are ready to sell if a bid of around £40m is put on the table.
The newspaper suggests that United would prefer to sign Moura on an initial loan deal until the end of the season but the Ligue 1 giants need to offload players to help meet financial fair play guidelines so they want a permanent transfer now.
The Express claim that the likes of Bordeaux, Nantes, Nice and Real Betis are also keeping an eye on the attackers situation but Moura is only interested in joining Man Utd if he leaves PSG.
Mourinho knows he needs to add some creativity to his attack if they’re to match Manchester City and Moura would certainly be an exciting addition to the squad if United could get a deal agreed.

The South American is predominantly a right winger so he could be viewed as a potential replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan as the Armenian international is being tipped to leave after falling out of favour this season.
