Man Utd Told They Can Sign La Liga Hitman In £53m Deal Following Talks
Real Madrid have made contact with Manchester United and offered them the chance to sign Karim Benzema for £53.2m this summer, according to reports
The January transfer window in now closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Karim Benzema has been offered to Man Utd….
Real Madrid have made contact with Manchester United and offered them the chance to sign Karim Benzema for £53.2m this summer, according to reports in Spain via TeamTalk.
Benzema has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe since joining Madrid from Lyon back in 2009 as he’s provided 187 goals and 108 assists to help the club win three Champions League’s, two La Liga’s and a host of other domestic cups.
However, he’s struggled this season as the French international has scored just 2 La Liga goals so far and it’s led to strong speculation that Madrid are ready to cash-in at the end of the season.
It looks like the La Liga giants are already offering Benzema around other top clubs as TeamTalk are citing a report from Diario Gol that claims Madrid have made contact with United over signing the 30-year-old.
The Spanish outlet says Madrid president Florentino Perez approached United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and offered them the chance to sign Benzema in a £53.2m deal.
It’s understood that Madrid hope this approach will act as a sweetener ahead of fresh attempts to sign David De Gea in the summer, however, it remains to be seen whether United will be tempted by the proposition.
The Red Devils recently signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal but Jose Mourinho could be in the market for another striker this summer as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to leave the club when his contract expires in June.

Despite his recent troubles in front of goal, Benzema is still a world class hitman and could rediscover his best form if given a fresh challenge in England so I think he’d be an exciting signing if United decide to press ahead with a deal.
