Manchester United booked their place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium this evening.

United got off to the perfect start as Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring in just the third minute when the Belgian international raced clear to cut inside and cooly slot home for 0-1.

There was then huge controversy on the stroke of half time as United thought they had scored when Juan Mata rounded Lossl and stroked in to the empty net.

However, the referee called for VAR to be used and Mata was deemed to be offside despite the bizarre images displayed on TV showing the lines used by VAR were nowhere accurate and the United player was marginally onside.

United did eventually make it 2-0 as Alexis Sanchez sent Lukaku clear again and the striker made no mistake to slot low in to bottom corner to double the visitors advantage in the 55th minute.
