Arsenal and Chelsea are due to hold talks with Leon Bailey’s agent as the £40m-rated Bayer Leverkusen attacker looks to secure a move to the Premier League this summer, according to the Sun.
Bailey made his name in Belgium during an impressive two-year spell at Genk before joining Leverkusen during the 2017 January window and he’s continued to develop in to one of the most exciting young attackers in Europe over the past 18 months.
The 20-year-old provided 12 goals and 6 assists in his 34 appearances last season to help Leverkusen to a fifth-placed finish in the Bundesliga table which saw them narrowly miss out on Champions League qualification having finished behind Borussia Dortmund on goal difference.
Bailey’s potential has caught the attention of clubs here in the Premier League and the Sun claims Arsenal and Chelsea have been put on red alert as the winger is now looking to secure a move to England this summer.
The newspaper suggests Bailey’s agent will hold talks with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea next week to discuss a potential move with Leverkusen expected to demand up to £40m for his signature.
The Jamaican-born attacker is under contract until 2022 so the Bundesliga outfit are under no pressure to cash-in on the cheap but the report claims they would struggle to resist if Arsenal or Chelsea put £40m on the table.
The Gunners have already brought in five new signings this summer but Unai Emery is reportedly keen to add a pacey winger to his ranks before the start of the new campaign and Bailey could now be a prime target.
However, Chelsea are also expected to be in the market for attacking reinforcements as Willian is being strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge so Bailey could be viewed as a potential replacement.

We’ll have to see how talks progress next week but Bailey would be an exciting signing for Arsenal or Chelsea if either of the London giants could get a deal agreed for his signature this summer.
