Tottenham To Hijack Chelsea’s Move By Launching £45m Bid To Sign Exciting Star
Tottenham are ready to hijack Chelsea’s attempts to sign Wilfried Zaha by launching a £45m bid for the Crystal Palace attacker
The summer transfer window is in full swing and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham are determined to sign Chelsea target Wilfried Zaha…
Tottenham are ready to hijack Chelsea’s attempts to sign Wilfried Zaha by launching a £45m bid for the Crystal Palace attacker during the closing stages of the window, according to the Sun.
Zaha came through the youth ranks at Palace and was one of the most exciting young attackers in British football when he was snapped-up by Manchester United in 2013 but he endured a disappointing two-year spell at Old Trafford that saw him make just 2 first team appearances.
The Ivory Coast international eventually returned to Palace and has rediscovered some of his best form at Selhurst Park having provided 9 goals and 5 assists in 29 Premier League games last season to help Roy Hodgson’s men secure their top flight status for another year.
The 25-year-old’s performances have once again attracted interest from the upper echelons of the division as the Sun claims that Chelsea have tested Palace’s resolve with a £30m cash offer that would also include Danny Drinkwater heading in the opposite direction.
Maurizio Sarri is keen to revamp the squad he inherited from Antonio Conte and a new attacker seems to be on the agenda as Willian is being strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge so Zaha could be viewed as a replacement.
Palace have rejected Chelsea’s offer but it looks like Tottenham are ready to hijack their move as the Sun claims Spurs are set to submit an improved offer worth £45m including additional add-ons plus a massive sell-on clause.
The newspaper says Palace were initially demanding around £70m for Zaha’s signature but Tottenham are determined to try and drive the price down to secure a deal before the transfer window shuts on August 9th.
We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming days but the report says Zaha would be tempted by a move to Tottenham as he’s keen to prove himself at the highest level after flopping at Man Utd.

If Spurs were successful in landing Zaha, he would become Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing of the summer and provide the Argentinean coach with another top class option in the final third this season.
