Tottenham are preparing an improved offer for Tanguy Ndombele as Mauricio Pochettino looks to agree a deal with Lyon for the £71m-rated midfielder
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Tottenham’s move for Tanguy Ndombele…
Tottenham are preparing an improved offer for Tanguy Ndombele as Mauricio Pochettino looks to agree a deal with Lyon for the £71m-rated midfielder this month, according to Le10Sport.
Ndombele only joined Lyon from Amiens last summer but he enjoyed a sensational first season at the Olympic Stadium with his all-action performances in the middle of the park helping the club clinch Champions League qualification with a third placed finish in Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old’s impressive displays have caught the attention of several top European clubs and Tottenham are among those to have been heavily linked with Ndombele in recent weeks.
Le10Sport claims Spurs have already seen an opening offer rejected by Lyon after Pochettino identified Ndombele as a key summer transfer target as the Tottenham coach looks to add to his midfield options.
Victor Wanyama is being tipped to leave the north Londoners this summer after struggling to rediscover his best form following a knee injury while Tottenham still need to sign a replacement for Moussa Dembele following his exit back in January.
Ndombele has emerged as a prime target and Le10Sport suggests Tottenham are ready to test Lyon’s resolve with an improved offer for the French international as Pochettino looks to try and get a deal wrapped-up quickly.
That is good news for Lyon as the French outlet says they are ready to cash-in on Ndombele and want his sale concluded before June 30th so they can include the deal in this year’s annual accounts.
However, Le10Sport says Lyon are demanding around £71m for Ndombele’s signature and Spurs could face competition from the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain – who’ve also expressed their interest.

We’ll have to wait and see whether either of those two clubs step up their pursuit and rival Tottenham with a bid of their own but it looks like Spurs are pushing hard to sign Ndombele and I think he’d be an excellent signing.
