Tottenham Hotspur kick off their 2019/20 Premier League campaign when they entertain Aston Villa at the new White Hart Lane this evening.

Mauricio Pochettino is without Jan Vertonghen as the Belgian international is ruled out with a minor knock so Davinson Sanchez starts alongside Toby Alderweireld at the back. Kyle Walker-Peters starts at right-back with Danny Rose occupying the left-back position in place of the injured Ben Davies.

Christian Eriksen has been left on the bench amid speculation surrounding his future at Tottenham but Tanguy Ndombele makes his debut following his club record move from Lyon this summer. He lines-up alongside Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park.

Erik Lamela gets a start in attack after returning to full fitness while Lucas Moura will also support Harry Kane in the Spurs front three. Hueng min Son is suspended while summer signing Giovani Lo Celso isn’t involved after just one training session.

Ryan Sessegnon is also unavailable as he’s been ruled out for 4 weeks with a hamstring injury but the likes of Serge Aurier, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama are on the bench for the north Londoners.

Here are the confirmed line-ups:
