“Top 3 in world” – Fabregas hails Liverpool star & says he’d love to play with him

Cesc Fabregas has hailed Sadio Mane as one of the top three players in the world following his performance during Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Salzburg

Cesc Fabregas has hailed Sadio Mane as one of the top three players in world football following his superb performance during Liverpool’s 4-3 victory over Salzburg last night.

Mane opened the scoring at Anfield with a wonderful finish after a stunning move involving Roberto Firmino before Liverpool’s two full-backs combined to make it 2-0 as Trent Alexander-Arnold set-up Andy Robertson in the 25th minute.

Mane then played a part in creating Liverpool’s third goal as his cross eventually found it’s way to Mohamed Salah to make it 3-0 in the 35th minute as the Reds looked to be cruising to victory.

Salzburg then staged a stunning comeback as Hwang Hee-Chan made it 3-1 with a superb effort before further goals from Takumi Minamino and Erling Braut Halaand drew the visitors level midway through the second half.

However, Salah soon won it for Liverpool as he lashed home from 15 yards to secure a dramatic 4-3 victory but it wasn’t the Egyptian’s performance that caught the eye of Fabregas.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder took to Twitter last night to hail Mane as one of the top three players in the world right now and when questioned by fans, Fabregas responded by saying the Liverpool star is ‘amazing’ and claimed he’d love to play with him.

There is no doubt Mane is playing the best football of his career right now having taken his season tally to 7 goals in 10 games last night and he’s a vital part of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, top 3 in the world? That’s a bold claim by Fabregas. What do you think…is Mane now in the top 3?
