Chelsea great value to win the title after excellent summer window
The 2020/21 Premier League season is underway and bookmakers are expecting it to be another two-horse race between Liverpool and Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp’s men ran away with things last season as Liverpool stormed their way to their first league title in 30 years after finishing a whopping 18 points clear of their nearest rivals.
The Merseysiders are expected to be right in the mix next May as bookmakers have Liverpool as the 2/1 second favourites to defend their trophy – which may be tempting to some punters given how dominant they were last season.
Manchester City are being backed to respond to last years disappointment with most bookmakers pricing Pep Guardiola’s side as the 8/11 favourites to reclaim the title.
The odds seem short considering a ball hasn’t been kicked yet and City finished a distant second last season. However, if you do want to bet on City you can use a Dafabet sign up coupon code and easily place your wager via their mobile app. They also have a huge variety of in-play and live odds. It might be worth waiting a few days before placing your bet to see if City’s title odds lengthen.
While it’s difficult to look beyond Liverpool and Man City, there could be a dark horse in this season’s title race. Chelsea have enjoyed a sensational summer in the transfer market as they’ve added quality throughout their squad.
Frank Lampard has managed to strengthen his attack with the additions of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig while German wonderkid Kai Havertz has arrived from Bayer Leverkusen in a £70m deal.
Their defence has also been improved with experienced Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva signed from Paris Saint-Germain and Ben Chilwell has arrived from Leicester City to upgrade Chelsea’s options at left-back.
Reports suggest that Edouard Mendy is set to arrive from Rennes as Lampard’s new first choice goalkeeper. Kepa was poor at times last season so a reliable no.1 could save Chelsea 5-10 points this season.
The West Londoners are also trying to sign Declan Rice from West Ham and if they could sign the defensive midfielder, then Chelsea will have built a squad capable of challenging and they’d look great value to win the title at odds of 10/1.
Obviously it won’t be easy to close the gap on Liverpool – who finished 33 points ahead of Chelsea last season – but 10/1 seems like long odds for a team with as much quality as Chelsea have in their ranks.
Liverpool and City have barely strengthened their squad’s this summer so unless Guardiola and Klopp make some big moves in the market over the coming weeks, we think Chelsea could step-up to make it a three-horse race this season.
