Three Players Arsenal MUST Sell This Summer

In my last post, I mentioned the youth players I would like to see in the first team next season. To accommodate them, we need to get rid of certain first team players. There have been many players who have underperformed this year but these three on my list have been given ample opportunities to impress but they have not done anything to stake their claim to continue wearing the arsenal jersey

Abou Diaby

Of all the players I dislike in the Arsenal team, this guy takes the top prize. No doubt he is talented and has shown that he is a pretty decent player but he just doesn’t come through for the team often enough. The times when we trusted him to do the job he fails. He is also the reason why we fail go score many goals if he is in the team, he just constantly slows down the attack. Just watch him play and you will know what I mean.

Well he came with so much promise but after the FA Cup defeat, I think it is time for him to leave. There is no passion or commitment at all from this guy. How can you explain him being bossed out by the da silva twins? Also him allowing the opponents to move faster than him like what Valencia did for the second Man United goal was unforgivable. It’s not the first time as well. Remember how Rooney scored in the defeat at the Emirates last year? Denilson got out-paced by even the referee!

Nicklas Bendtner

Earlier this season the Dane was making all sort of noises about how he is the best striker in the club (and even the world?!). Well he hasn’t lived up to his own hype. He first touch is atrocious. If he is a good striker and possess a decent first touch, we would have been in the champions league quarter finals this year. If as the report says that he is worth 15 million pounds, please do the deal immediately Arsene.

***Please note this article was written BEFORE the 2-2 draw with West Brom on Saturday, I think it’s safe to say Manuel Almunia should be added to this list!***

I feel Diaby could be a great player for Arsenal, if he gained a sense of urgency, while on the ball. He strolls too often when we are on the fast break. He is the WORST option on a counter attack as he has a lazy swagger about him. Bendtner should just retire, he is pants. He has scored some important goals in his time but he needs to stop chewing his gum in THAT annoying way, learn to control a ball and SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

Denilson had a lot of potential when he arrived and he has failed to continue his development. this could be down to tactical changes within the team or lack of first team starts witht the inclusion of Alex Song. Last season he had the highest pass completion in the Premier League, as he passes the ball about a metre MAXIMUM and always to our backline. Eitherway i agree, he should be let go.

iam really depressed, when arsenal needs the urgency to catch up ,they loose the pains really ,even i do not know how arsene wenger feels about it .we have atleast four players that have been letting arsenal down, viz:almunia in goalkeeping, abou diaby ,denilson and bendtner.i have never seen a very stupid goalkeeper like almunia, just letting goals in like water.

    March 21, 2011 at 10:50 am

add almunia squillaci rosicky to that list. diaby could become a good player but he is lazy. i do hope we sign some quality players like aoc c. eriksen and a good striker.

    March 21, 2011 at 10:53 am

We must buy 1 experienced gk, meterschaker or subotic, a good defensive midfielder and llorente or another good striker!!

The arrogance of keyboard managers has no bounds. Fed by gutter press and has beens like Alan Hansen, they spout their drivel all over the internet. Support the team you morons!! Discussions over who has to leave or no should be kept quiet until the season is over. The team needs our support, regardless of what we think of individual players. We’re still fighting for the title, support, support, support!!!.

leave bendtner and diaby they just need confidence, definately sell almunia and denilson, maybe squillaci and rosicky but only if there are decent replacements.

I have being saying it for the last 2 years, lets get Luiz suarez and now we ve lost him. too bad

  11. Daniel Marino

    March 21, 2011 at 11:04 am

Well spoted. This is what I was asking all along.

The above three players are slow, and negative affecting the mode on the pitch.

Did you see Man Utd. Even 10 men still running around to get that goal but heavily defensive orientated as well.

    March 21, 2011 at 11:27 am

Wenger won’t sell Diaby except the boy asks to go. Same for Denilson. Almunia, Rosicky and Bendtner are the three.

the list should read as follows:

    That should be enough.

    Steklenberg,Subotic,Vertongen,Lahm,Gibbs(promoted),Inler,Hazard,Mata, Benzema, Banega.

these additions would sort us out for the next 5-6 seasons.

Nice quote but can stubborn and arrogant Wenger ever change? I don’t think so. I wouldn’t be surprise if I still see the likes of DENILSON, DIABY, SQUILLACI, EBOUE, HELLMUNIA, ROSCKI, BEDTNER in our team next season. A day born baby knows Arsenal’s problem. Well, I have always believed we as Arsenal fans are the most lenient and moron because we should’ve protested the menace happening to our dear club long ago. I believe its clear to everyone now that Wenger is not good enough. Though, I thank him for his achievement especially in the area of stabilizing the economy of the club but hey guys, Arsenal is now a global brand and we need a manager that has total winning mentality. Not one that would say he’s proud of team or find one excuse or the other when his team perform woefully like Wenger’s comment after the game yesterday. Record has shown it that He’s not good enough. 16yrs in a club and only 7 trophies to show for it. No European glory. got in to finales 9times lost 5 and won 4. Among, the 5 he lost there were very important ones which are still missing in our CV as a football club.

I also fault his substitute changes and timing. I can recall many matches that he’s bad timing to substitute has caused it great deal of point this season and the last.

I don’t know in modern football where a worldwide brand of a football club like Arsenal has no quality goalie and bench. I have come to realized that if you don’t have a quality substitute you can win the league no the champs.

Long ago, we’d been telling Wenger to match experience with talent of our beautiful players. Just as Barcelona’s doing. Look at their midfield to the defense. Well, experience players. Wenger has to go. We’ve had enough of him and enough of putting our hearts in our hands. He hasn’t good enough as a manager. I do not see us winning the league because we will always slip off. We will always drop point where we are not supposed to. Mannure played woefully yesterday but still secured the maximum point. We do not have the mental ability to do this. We concede too early and too much of goal before we come back. This is not the quality that can win the EPL… For me, I am bracing up for next season but I will like to see Wenger leave otherwise, it would be the same old story… Gooners for life.

    BIG SALE 2011 :
Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Bendtner, Arshavin, Fabregas, Almunia and Fabianski.

Then, Wenger can just buy another player that he wished the most e.g Oxlade, Hazard, Reina, Stekelenburg, Cahill, Sarabia,

I’m tired of watching Arsenal on radar but then our opponents bargain them. Oh! Sucks!

Its easy to target these 3, but how about looking at the players that are very rarely there. Our captain has started 50% of matches over the last 3 seasons, our vice captain (RVP) only 47% and the original boy wonder (Theo) only 30%. Bendtner Diaby and Denilson are way down the pecking order but are used far more than they should be. Lets face it if everyone was fit these 3 might not even be on the bench let alone in the team. IMO this would be our line up if everyone was fit
    Sagna Djourou Vermaelen Clichy
    Wilshere Song Fabregas
    Nasri RVP Arshavin
    2nd X1
    Eboue, Squillaci, Koscielny, Gibbs
    Ramsey, Frimpong, Rosicky,
    Walcott, Chamakh, Vela
    3rd X1
    Eastmond Bartley Miquel Traore
    Lansbury Denilson Diaby
    Sunu Bendtner Watt

This means that these 3 would be in our 3rd X1 if everyone is fit, when you look at it like that having 2 current internationals and a once talked about future Brazilian captain would not be so bad. Almunia would not even get in the 3rd team.

Im fed up with hearing “diaby could be great” – no he wont!!! he’s had FIVE YEARS! How much longer shall we wait then to see this greatness? another 5 6 trophyless years??

o totally agree, none of them are good enough. we could get 30m for them 3 if we’re very lucky… Bendtner is awful and should be sold or even given away. He’d be good at Barnet

Change is needed when the table shows clearly we are second with four point adrift and a game in hand ?
Some fans i dont understand if they see our situation in al its sides (finance- injury)
Having said that i agree the two culprit specially Denilson and Almunia there was nothing and absolutely nothing to keep them for this season. They fail time and time and still merit to play and earn wages. Here is the question for wenger that he has to answer..Based upon whatis letting them playing and paying them while we are in financial costraints. To me a gamble for something that you do not have to see it and analysit in minute details. This two has been there for ages and costantly making silly errors and nothing to offer..
I dont know exactly how much they earn but surely are not peanuts.

What is point wenger you kept this two players for the last 3 season ?

The only reason bendtner needs to go is coz arsenal has a long list of fans that don’t understand the game. For rhe little time, unsuitable playing position and in-existent support he has got, he has still scored and even created assists. Ferguson has worse players but knows how to use them, We should look to the coach who has the poorest game strategy in the EPL in the past years. I just don;t know what happened to wenger.

Everyone harps at bendtner…fans are idiots sometimes. Hes the 3rd choice striker…why on earth are you going to take out aggression on him? Look at his statistics-last year went on a run with 10 goals in around as many of games…including 2 game winners and a hat trick. This year-he hasnt had hardly any league starts in the Center striking position, but when he has started hes scored a number of goals, and hes bagged plenty of assists as well. Theres a difference between Starts and appearances as a sub. Even van persies stats would lack if only got 20 minutes a game.

Denilson-yes…sell him and replace him with top talent who can actually perform the holding role along with song-give wilshire room to move forward.
    Diaby-eh. I think hes a decent sub
Squillaci- SELL SELL SELL. Defense is our real problem-and this stop-gap signing has played horribly. Arsene should have signed a top class defender originally…now he should again.
Almunia-SELLLLLLLLLL. thats an easy one. GK position still not confident.
Rosicky-I love him…but time to sell and bring in top class talent as he is almost 30 and not getting better (unlike bendtner who has time to mature and get better)

Sell the two Ds – Dumb and Dumber (Diaby and Denilson) and Arsenal will get the quadruple next year.

Guys, you are all spot on with your choice of players that have to leave the club in the off season. Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Bendtner, and Eboue must leave to accomodate our young English talents such as Lansbury, Eastmond and co.

The squad only needs to bring in two experienced players to support the youngsters and we will be fine for next season.

good points guys! 🙂 i think we should sell everyone, and the stadium, and buy messi…

get a grip you lot who are demanding that 10 players leave the club and that 10 come in, cos thats just dumb. you can’t expect 25 players who are world class in the squad, we just have alot of injuries at the moment. Although i agree on denilson and rosicky, one is not good enough anymore, and the other never wil be!

I would add Wenger to that list. He’s got to take the blame. his youth policy is in flames. the mans a fool and he is making this great club a laughing stock.

We might have been poor at times over the years, but we’ve never been laughed at like everyone seems to be doing now.

    Wenger OUT!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
