With thousands of football enthusiasts tuning in every year, EPL is an attractive event for bettors all around the globe. If you want to share the excitement, you might want to learn a thing or two about EPL betting.

Bet on EPL (English Premier League)

Football has always gone hand-in-hand with betting. Especially such a prestigious league as the Premier League has a lot to offer to football betting fans. But for newbies, betting on the Premier League can be daunting. So here is your ultimate guide to get started:

Match odds – Match odds is the most straightforward betting option available in the sports betting market.  Like in other sports, teams can win, lose or draw. Match odds betting gives punters the option to back the club, which they think may win the matchup outright. Especially with such action-packed events like the Premier League, it will be challenging to predict the winner.

Over/Under – Over/Under is another common betting option. In football betting, total over/under refers to the total number of goals scored in the match. The sportsbooks set a threshold for the total number of goals.  You need to guess if the match will end with a higher or lower number of goals. For example, if bookies give you odds like over 2 /under 2 and you bet on over 2, you simply predict that the match will finish with two overall goals. If the game ends with more than two goals, you lose.

Totals – This betting option basically refers to the overall number of goals. Here, bettors don’t need to feel apprehensive about the outcome of the game. Fans can also choose specific halves of the game and place separate bets. The Premier League has a wide selection of betting options, so double-check what bookies have got to offer.

Goal Handicap – For this betting option, one of the teams gets a disadvantage and is tilted as a handicap. This is done to even the chances for teams that may be considered weaker. So the team must score one more goal than their opponent to outscore them.

Draw No Bet – The draw no bet market is meant to back the team that may win. Many bettors may be bewildered while reading about draw no bet, however, it’s much simpler. As you know, you can predict and bet on the winner or the loser of the match, but in some cases, the game may end in a tie.

Draw no bet eliminates the chance of a draw as a game outcome. So bettors can only wager on the winner or the loser. Assuming the match ends in a draw, you neither lose nor win your original bet—the amount will just be refunded.

Prop Bet – Prop bets are meant to add more flavour to the betting experience. Bettors can predict the game’s outcome: who will score a goal, if both teams score, the first goalscorer, the correct score of the match and much more. The options may vary from sportsbook to sportsbook.

Understanding Premier League Odds

If you’re a newbie and need some guidance on EPL betting odds, we’ve got you covered.

Sportsbooks worldwide offer all sorts of bets on the Premier League. Hardcore fans can bet during live matches/in-play or pre-match. Flexing your knowledge in English football betting and understanding the odds will only be beneficial to your betting experience.

In match odds betting, you may see numbers with fractions or decimals such as 2/1 or 3.0. For fractional odds, the first number is how much you can win based on the size of your stake with the second number. So, if the odds are 2/1 you will get £2 for every £1 you bet. Plus, if your bet is a winning one you get the stake returned too.

To make it even easier, here is an example. If you get odds of 4/1 and want to bet £10 you will win £50 – £40 winnings plus your £10 stake. For decimal odds you simply multiply your stake by the odds to get you winnings. So, a £10 winning bet at 3.5 would see you credited with £35.

In Goal Handicap betting, you’ll see +/- alongside each selection to indicate the handicap you are betting on. Here the favoured team is marked with – and the underdog with +. Sportsbooks set different thresholds like +1 up to +5 or -0.5, -1 etc., you may even see 0.

For instance, you have odds like Atletico Madrid -1.5 v Manchester United +1.5. In this scenario, if you back Atletico Madrid -1.5, they need to win by at least two goals for your bet to be successful. However, if you back Manchester United +1.5, they need to win the match, draw or lose by no more than one goal for you to win the bet.

Totals Goals betting is actually what it sounds like. You bet on the overall number of goals within a match. The bookies will give selections such as 0, 1, 3 or 4+ and so on. If you bet on Over 2.5, you just guess that there will be three or more goals. You may also have the option to bet on an exact number of goals.

The rest of the betting options like total over/under, exactly 2 (or more) goals in the match, the first team to score, and more are pretty self-explanatory.

EPL is on the top of the football league rankings with many teams battling it out to claim supremacy over opponents and to get the title of champions. Every game is highly competitive so generally there is no shortage of options to bet on EPL than on any other sporting event.

While these insights will come in handy, you can always go the extra mile to research and get more info before betting. Examine the market and choose the most appropriate betting option. Make informed bets so that you can enjoy the game and the outcome to the fullest.
