Liverpool keen on signing Chelsea target Luka Vuskovic

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea target and Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic, as per a recent German report.
After joining the Lilywhites last summer, the 19-year-old impressed during the pre-season. Still, they decided not to keep him, and he joined the newly promoted Bundesliga side Hamburger on loan to play regularly and develop his career.
The Croatian has enjoyed a promising campaign this season, scoring five goals and keeping six clean sheets in 26 appearances across all competitions. Moreover, he has been helping his side in their quest for survival.
Now, as per a recent German report (via TEAMtalk), having been impressed by Vuskovic, Liverpool are ‘seriously discussing’ the possibility of signing him this summer.
However, Liverpool aren’t the only club interested in the youngster, as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea are also considering making a potential swoop.
With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2030, Spurs aren’t in any rush to sell him. However, several of their key players have been linked with a move as they have surprisingly found themselves in a relegation scrap.
Following a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, Tottenham are currently only one point ahead of the drop zone. So, Spurs are fearful that they might be forced to sell Vuskovic this summer, even though he hasn’t made his debut yet. If they are ultimately forced to cash-in on him, the North London club want around £52m.

Vuskovic, standing at 6ft 4in tall, is comfortable playing out from the back, good in the air, and efficient in defensive contributions. He is a highly talented CB and could be a shrewd acquisition for Liverpool or Chelsea should either club purchase him.
The Reds currently have Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, and Giovanni Leoni as options to deploy in the centre-back positions. However, Van Dijk has shown signs of decline this season, while Gomez has struggled with fitness problems.
Konate, meanwhile, is likely to leave as a free agent this summer. So, Liverpool are said to be planning to revamp the defensive department.
On the other hand, Chelsea have displayed inconsistent performances this term, so it appears they are considering strengthening the defence to turn the situation around next campaign.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the Merseyside club or the Blues eventually manage to secure his services.
