Anderlecht Director: Chelsea Still Want Lukaku
Chelsea are still in the hunt for Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku. Despite the arrival of new boss Andre Villas-Boas the Blues remain determined to sign the Belgian wonderkid.
The News of the World reports that former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti made the £20m rated teenager a high priority this summer, but since his departure speculation cooled on the 18-year olds future. But new boss AVB is thought to be a huge admirer of Belgian international and the clubs have already held talks over the transfer of Lukaku.
Anderlecht’s director of football Herman van Holsbeeck said:
“People say the new Chelsea manager doesn’t want Lukaku – but they have different information to me.
“But we will only sell him if it is good for both ourselves and the player. We are asking serious money for him.”
Lukaku made his debut for the Belgian outfit at the tender age of 16 and has gone on to score over 30 goals for the club and earning 9 caps for the Belgian national team.
