Agent: “he wants to move to Arsenal”
By Fab4.
Arsenal are edging closer to the signature of Lorient defender Laurent Koscienly after the centre-back told the French club that he wants to join the Gunners and they should accept our latest £8.3m offer, according to the Daily Mail.
Should Lorient take his advice and accept the bid, they would make a substantial profit on a player they paid just £1.5m for only last summer. But the player is now becoming increasingly frustrated with Lorient as they are holding out for a higher fee. Koscienly is now hoping his request will force some sort of compromise with a sell-on clause being included to sweeten the deal.
Koscienly’s agent Stephane Canard confirmed the player was keen to secure a move to North London and hopes a deal is close.
‘Laurent told the Lorient president and coach that he wants to move to Arsenal come what may.’It is hard to ignore interest from Arsene Wenger. Lorient’s directors want to get over £8.3m from Arsenal.
‘We have held talks with them, and with a sell-on clause inserted in the deal we are not far off agreement.’
Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his desire to add to his defense, and with the impending exit of William Gallas, Mikel Silvestre and Sol Campbell, it’s likely that the Arsenal boss will still be in the market for another centre-back even if he secures the signing of Koscienly.
Would Arsenal fans be happy with the signing of Koscienly? Who else would you like Arsene to go for?
