Tottenham vs Everton: Injury News, Likely Line-up & Predicted Score
Tottenham welcome Everton to White Hart Lane looking to close the gap on the top two. Here’s injury news, likely line-up and predicted score for the game tonight
Tottenham welcome Everton to White Hart Lane looking for a win that would see them move level on points with second-placed Manchester United, and just three points behind league leaders City.
This fixture will see Spurs finally play their game in hand after the disgraceful rioting in August saw the opening match of the season postponed.
Injury News
The major doubt for Tottenham is influential midfielder Scott Parker, who is due to have a late fitness test on a knee injury. Parker has missed the last two games but is rated 50:50 for tonights game. If he misses out, youngster Jake Livermore could be set for a rare start.
Michael Dawson came through ninety minutes during Tottenham’s 3-0 victory over Cheltenham at the weekend unscathed, but after such a lengthy lay-off it would be a risk for Redknapp to throw him straight back into Premier League action. Although with Ledley King and William Gallas both ruled out through injury, the Spurs boss only has the out-of-favour Sebastian Bassong to call upon at centre back if he decides against Dawson.
Aaron Lennon also returned from injury at the weekend but may not be risked from the start tonight.
Likely Line-up
Freidel
Walker Kaboul Bassong Ekotto
VDV Livermore Modric Bale
Defoe Adebayor
Parker would come in for Livermore if he passes a late fitness test, while Redknapp will have to decide whether to start the returning Dawson and Lennon from the start. Defoe should continue alongside Adebayor after scoring against Cheltenham and also netting the winner against West Brom. The rest of the team should pick itself.
Predicted Score
3-0 to Tottenham. Although Everton are a well organised side i can see Spurs having too much for them at White Hart Lane. The Lillywhites are in great form and the Toffee’s will come un-stuck tonight.
