Everton vs Tottenham: Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Tottenham face Everton at Goodison Park this Saturday looking to get their season back on track. Here’s team news, likely line-ups & predicted score for the game
Tottenham travel to Merseyside to face Everton at Goodison Park this Saturday looking to get their season back on track.
The Londoners have seen their title challenge derailed in recent weeks after back-to-back league defeats to Arsenal and Man Utd. Spurs are only four points clear of the fourth-placed Gunners and now find themselves in a fight with their North London neighbours for third spot, while Chelsea are only a further three points adrift, so a result against Everton is vital to maintain their Champions League push.
Tottenham won the corresponding fixture at White Hart Lane 2-0 in January but will face a rejuvinated Everton side who have beaten Man City and Chelsea in their last two league home games.
Team News
David Moyes has recieved some welcome news this week as a number of players are nearing full fitness. Leon Osman, Nikica Jelavic and Seamus Coleman all played a part in last weeks 1-1 draw with QPR after injury lay-offs.
Phil Jagielka, Victor Anichebe and James McFadden also retured to action for the reserves in midweek so Moyes suddenly finds himself with selection headaches.
Tottenham will be without Michael Dawson who has been ruled out for up to 3 months after injuring ankle ligaments during Wednesday’s replay with Stevenage.
Scott Parker, Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart were all in action during that game after missing last weekends 3-1 defeat to United. Harry Redknapp must make do without Aaron Lennon though, after the winger pulled his hamsring.
There is some contention over whether Louis Saha should be taking part in the game, with David Moyes claiming he has a gentleman’s agreement with Redknapp that the striker wouldn’t play against his former side. But Redknapp has insisted the Frenchman is available to play.
However, Jermain Defoe is pushing for a start alongside Emmanuel Adebayor after hitting a brace against Stevenage on Wednesday.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Goodison is a tough place to go to, as shown by the two recent results against Man City and Chelsea, so Tottenham will have to be on top form to record a win here. However, Spurs have never lost three league games in a row under Harry Redknapp and i can see them getting a well earned draw. Everton 1-1 Tottenham
