Tottenham vs Stoke: Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Tottenham welcome Stoke City to White Hart Lane tonight with Spurs looking to pull clear of rivals Arsenal. Here’s team news, likely line-ups & predicted score
With the unfortunate scenes from Saturday evening still at the forefront of their thoughts, Tottenham welcome Stoke City to White Hart Lane tonight.
Many Spurs players were visibly upset following Fabrice Muamba’s cardiac arrest at White Hart Lane on Saturday but Harry Redknapp is confident his squad are focussed enough to play tonight. However, he has stressed that anyone not in the right frame of mind will be allowed to sit it out.
Tottenham are looking to end a disappointing run of three consecutive loses and will hope to secure a win and pull clear of fourth-placed Arsenal, who have closed to within a point of their rivals.
Team News
Emmanuel Adebayor remains a doubt after struggling to shake off a hamstring injury, while winger Aaron Lennon is definitely out after failing to recover from his own hamstring strain.
Ledley King will also be assessed and Harry Redknapp may decide to leave him out with one eye on Saturday’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, knowing King is unable to play two games in a week. William Gallas may step in.
Michael Dawson, Heurelho Gomes and Tom Huddlestone are all still out with long term injuries.
Stoke are set to welcome back goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, after the stopper sat out Sunday’s 2-1 FA Cup loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
Ricardo Fuller remains out through suspension after being sent off against Chelsea last week. Other than that, Tony Pulis has a fully fit squad to choose from.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham simply can not afford to drop points here and to lose a fourth straight league game is almost unthinkable. Stoke will always put up a good fight and pose a real threat from set pieces, but Spurs should have too much in attack for the Potters to handle. Tottenham 2-0 Stoke.
