Tottenham vs Blackburn: Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Tottenham welcome relegation threatened Blackburn Rovers to White Hart Lane on Sunday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score.
Tottenham will look to get their Champions League hopes back on track when they welcome relegation threatened Blackburn Rovers to White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Spurs have dropped to fifth in the league, three points behind Newcastle, after winning just one of their last nine matches and lost to newly-promoted Norwich City last time out at home.
This poor form will give Blackburn hope as they arrive in London lying second bottom and in desperate need of points to save their Premier League status for another season.
With four games remaining, Spurs must hope fourth-placed Newcastle trip-up, with Harry Redknapp targeting four wins to secure a top-four place.
Team news
Harry Redknapp has received a double boost ahead of the game with the news that both Younes Kaboul and Emmanuel Adebayor have recovered in time to take part, after both missed last weeks defeat to QPR through injury.
Defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been ruled out for the season with a dislocated shoulder, meaning Danny Rose is likely to step in. Niko Kranjcar, Tom Huddlestone and Michael Dawson remain out.
Blackburn arrive in good health with Steve Kean having virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from. Simon Vukcevic and Jason Lowe are available again, leaving Grant Hanley as the only player missing.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Despite Tottenham’s disastrous recent run, they have lost just 3 home games this campaign so should still be confident of over-coming a side sitting second bottom of the league in front of their own fans. As Harry Redknapp said, if they want it enough their quality will come through and they will win the game. We think Spurs will do just enough to win this one. Tottenham 2-1 Blackburn.
