Transfer News: Latics Slap £12m Price-Tag On Moses
Wigan Athletic have told Chelsea and Liverpool it will take a bid of £12m to land exciting young forward Victor Moses, after rejecting a £6m bid last week.
Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Wigan name their price for Victor Moses.
Wigan Athletic have told Chelsea and Liverpool it will take a bid of £12m to land forward Victor Moses, according to the Mirror.
The report claims that Wigan have slapped the hefty price-tag on the youngsters head after rejecting a £6m offer from European champions Chelsea last week.
New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also keen on the 21-year-old attacker as he looks to re-shape his squad at Anfield ahead of next season.
However, Wigan owner Dave Whelan is not going to let Moses leave on the cheap and is determined to get around £12m for his prized asset. Boss Roberto Martinez is reluctant to lose the Nigerian international but understands his sale would provide much-needed funds that would help him strengthen his squad this summer.
It’s believed that Whelan is using the sale of Charles N’Zogbia to Aston Villa last year as a benchmark for Moses’ valuation. N’Zogbia was sold for £9.5m and given the fact Moses is younger and seen as having the potential to be better than the Frenchman, he’s regarded as a more valuable asset.
