Chelsea Transfer News: Brazilian Begs For £19.5m Blues Move
Brazilian attacker Willian has begged Shakhtar Donetsk to allow him to join Chelsea and claims a bid of £19.5m should see a deal struck with the Ukrainians.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Willian begs for a move to Chelsea.
Brazilian attacker Willian has begged Shakhtar Donetsk to allow him to join Chelsea, according to the Mirror.
The European champions have been strongly linked with Willian in recent seasons but have so far been unable to agree a fee with his club, Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Ukrainians president Rinat Akhmetov claimed recently the winger was available for £23.5m, while manager Mircea Lucescu suggested that Chelsea have already had a £25.5m offer rejected by the club.
It seems these contradictory statements have left the 23-year-old frustrated with his employers for not letting him make a dream move to West London and claims that his actual price is set at £19.5m. The Brazil international also believes selling him would be beneficial for all parties:
“I don’t know what the coach said, but the correct value is 25million euros (£19.5million),”
“Regardless of the price, it is clear that the desire is great to play at a club like Chelsea, the champion of the Champions League.
“I’m really upset with the board for not letting me leave. It would be good for me and also for the club. I’d be in a big city and have the chance to grow professionally. This is not a message to anyone, everyone knows I want to leave.”
Willian is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
The former Corinthians attacker revealed it would be a dream come true for him to play alongside countrymen David Luiz and Ramires at Chelsea, when the Blues take on his former side at the FIFA World Club Cup in December. He continued:
“It would be an extra special moment for me,” he said. “I was raised in Corinthians and to be there in the shirt of Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, would be priceless.
“I was with David Luiz and Ramires in the Selecao. If this actually happens, it will be great.”
