As we enter the final stages of the summer transfer window, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news. Today, Lyon release a statement over the proposed move of Hugo Lloris to Spurs.
Lyon have released a statement dismissing reports that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is all set to join Tottenham.
Reports emanating from France on Thursday evening claimed that Tottenham had reached an agreement with the French outfit for the transfer of Lloris.
It was understood the 25-year-old had traveled to London to negotiate personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of the proposed move to White Hart Lane.
However, Lyon have released a statement on their official website claiming they have not reached an agreement with Tottenham and claim that the Premier League club have tabled an offer tonight that is less than the deal agreed between the two clubs earlier this week.
The full statement said:
“”Olympique Lyonnais communicates that they have not reached an agreement with Tottenham for the transfer of Hugo Lloris.
“Proposals submitted by Tottenham tonight are significantly distant from the one which was officially made on August 26 and had opened up discussions between the player and the London club.”

There is every expectation that the deal will still go through before Friday’s 11pm deadline, but it seems Daniel Levy is trying to play hardball and squeeze out a better deal.
