Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted Manchester United target Roberto Lewandowski will leave the club but insists they will do all they can to keep hold of him, according to talkSPORT.
The report claims the 24-year-old hitman is expected to move to Manchester United at the end of the season after being unable to agree terms over a new contract, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2014.
Klopp has confirmed the Bundesliga champions will try and persuade Lewandowski to commit his future to the club, but claims as it stands it looks likely the Polish striker will leave. The Dortmund boss is quoted by talkSPORT as saying:
“We will offer Robert a good contract but we have to see what the players wants,” Klopp said.
“We must respect the decision of the player and, in some cases, wait. Right now there are signs that suggest we may be heading for a divorce but we will see what we can do.”
Lewandowski has been with the German giants for two-and-a-half years after moving from Polish side Lech Poznań in 2010. He has been a huge hit with Dortmund, scoring 54 goals in 115 appearances for the club.

However, with his contract up in 18 months Dortmund will have a tough decision to make in the summer if they can’t persuade the striker to sign fresh terms. talkSPORT claim United are his most likely destination if he does leave, and he would forge a devastating strike-force with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney if he does make the move to Old Trafford.
