Spurs Team News + Predicted Starting XI To Take On West Ham
Tottenham take on West Ham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup. Here’s the team news and predicted Spurs line-up.
Tottenham will look to get back to footballing matters after another difficult week at White Hart Lane as they take on West Ham tomorrow night.
Andre Villas-Boas was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy yesterday following Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool and Tim Sherwood has now been put in temporary charge of first team duties starting with Wednesday night’s Capital One Cup quarter-final clash with the Hammers at the Lane.
Sherwood confirmed on Tuesday that he has problems in defence with Michael Dawson suspended and Jan Vertonghen ruled out with an ankle injury, but he did tell Tottenham’s official website that Vlad Chiriches has “a chance” of returning after missing the last three games with a knee injury.
Reports also claim that Younes Kaboul could return from injury, which would be a welcome boost for the north Londoners, while Danny Rose may also get another run out after returning to action last week following a three month lay-off.
However, midfielder Paulinho is suspended after being sent off on Sunday and Sandro is also expected to be missing after being forced off with a calf injury last time out.
Jermain Defoe should come in up front while the likes of Andros Townsend, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen should get a chance to impress.
