FA Cup Final Preview
The Home of English Football will be hosting the 134th final of the FA Cup, where Arsenal and Aston Villa will compete in the oldest ever football tournament.
Arsenal will be aiming for their 12th FA Cup trophy in the oldest football tournament in both England and the World. This year the 134th FA Cup Final will be traditionally held at the Wembley and the Gunners will be playing against Aston Villa.
Although Arsenal is the favourite, many football fans and sports bettors are rubbing their hands and hoping that the Villains will rise above and win their 8th title because of Arsenal’s recent poor performance’s at the Wembley.
It’s strange how Arsenal have not been able to perform at Wembley considering their last four matches at the Home of Football ended with extra-time or penalties. They struggled against Reading in the semi-final and they struggled against Wigan and Hull City in the last year’s semi and final, only to become FA champions again after extra time.
Arsenal will be breaking two new records, one if they win and another just for appearing in the final. Currently Arsenal and Manchester United hold the same record for final appearances both having appeared 18 times, but this will be Arsenal’s 19th. However, if Arsenal wins this will be their 12th title, while Manchester will be stuck on 11.
Anyway, even though the Gunners have an excellent team, with the Welsh goal-scoring hero Aaron Ramsey being their biggest hope and last year’s key man in defeating Hull City, the Villains are looking pretty strong as well. With Tim Sherwood at the helm, Villa have learned how to carry a goal treat, which was a big problem when Paul Lambert led the team.
The Villains will be hoping for Benteke to have a good day and lead the team towards a memorable victory. If they manage to defeat Arsenal just as they defeated Liverpool in the semi-final, then it will be a memorable night for the Midland’s club. With Benteke as one of the most in-form strikers in the Premier League, Villa has a good chance to do that.
But, luckily for Arsenal, they have Ramsey and of course, Alexis Sanchez. This is one of the most dynamic duos in the English league, and if Sherwood doesn’t do anything to neutralize them, especially in the final third, they will be in for a tough game.
The odds are certainly against Villa, but that is the beauty in betting on football. Currently Bet365 gives 5/2 for the Villains to land the silverware and 5/1 for them to win the match inside 90 minutes. The Gunners on the other hand are given 8/15 if they prevail.
