Liverpool To React With £14.5m Bid After Arsenal Hold Talks With Attacker Target

Liverpool will trigger Andriy Yarmolenko’s release clause with a £14.5m bid after Arsenal held talks with the Dynamo Kiev winger about a move to the Emirates

As the summer transfer window reaches it’s climax, managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the new season so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, could Andriy Yarmolenko finally be moving to England?

Liverpool are set to trigger Andriy Yarmolenko’s release clause with a £14.5m bid after Arsenal held talks with the Dynamo Kiev winger about a move to the Emirates, according to the Express.

Yarmolenko has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and the speculation has intensified once again this summer after he enjoyed another impressive season in the Ukrainian top flight.

The likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have been credited with an interest in recent weeks while the Express reported over the weekend that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had made contact with the 25-year-old’s camp to discuss a potential move to North London.

However, it seems Arsenal will now face some stiff competition for Yarmolenko’s signature as the Express are reporting today that Liverpool are now set to respond to their rivals interest by triggering the attackers release clause with a £14.5m bid.

Brendan Rodgers has already been extremely active in the summer transfer market but if these reports are accurate then it looks like the Northern Irishman is keen to further strengthen his attack options before the window closes on Tuesday evening.

We’ll have to wait and see how much truth there is behind this speculation but Yarmolenko would be an excellent signing for Liverpool, or indeed Arsenal, if either were able to lure him to the Premier League.

The Ukraine international is predominantly a winger but can play anywhere across the front three positions and with 19 goals and 21 assists in 43 appearances for Kiev last season, he’d certainly provide a real goal threat for either club.

I personally don’t think Yarmolenko will end up coming to England this summer but he would be an excellent signing if Arsenal or Liverpool did secure a deal, and at £14.5m he’d be a relative bargain for a player of his quality in today’s market.
