Arsenal eased in to the last eight of the EFL Cup with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scoring both goals during a 2-0 victory over Reading at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
Arsene Wenger made 9 changes from the side that drew with Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Saturday so understandably we looked a little disjointed early on.
However, we soon started to create chances and finally found the breakthrough as Oxlade-Chamberlain stole possession in the opposition half before firing in to the far corner for 1-0 in the 33rd minute.
Olivier Giroud came on to make his first appearance in over a month and the French international almost got on the score-sheet after forcing a fine save from a close-range header.
However, we did eventually put the game to bed as Oxlade-Chamberlain’s powerful effort from outside the area flew in to the back of the net via a deflection to secure a comfortable 2-0 win which books our place in the last 8.
