[Video Goals] Anderlecht 1-1 Man Utd: Mkhitaryan Goal Not Enough As Utd Held
Manchester United conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Anderlecht in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final this evening.
Manchester United conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Anderlecht in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final this evening.
United dominated from the outset and after Jesse Lingard had hit the post early on, the visitors eventually broke the deadlock when Henrikh Mkhitaryan was on hand to score from close range after Marcus Rashford had seen his effort saved.
Jose Mourinho’s men continued to control the game but they failed to make their dominance turn in to a second goal which would have put one foot in the semi finals.
And predictably United were made to pay as Anderlecht snatched a draw late on as Leander Dendoncker powered home a header in the 86th minute to secure a 1-1 draw.
United are still favourites to progress due to their away goal but the 1-1 draw still means it’s all to play for in the second leg at Old Trafford next week.
